This one's for you Grumpy. Talking with the kids tonight I was naming all the cars and trucks I owned over the years and it brought to mind a particular truck I really liked. In 1986 I bought a Silverado 2500 4X4, Dark Blue over a white bottom fully loaded. Spring of that model year GMC/Chevy offered the "Sportsman" - "Fleetside "only. You could pick an option package like you still can today (with Diamond plate tool box or a ladder rack or a few hundred on a gift card) only this special package was either a complete Fishing set (2 rods/reels, and all the accessories, A Camper Set - tent, sleeping bag, lantern and mess kit or lastly a Hunter's Set. Now usually these sets were shipped after the purchase of the truck but the Hunters set was the best deal and only 250 were available (when sold out, the deal ended). The Dealer in Quakertown, PA had requested many of the Hunters kits redeemed up front and displayed in the back window of a truck on the showroom floor. The kit came with a one-way see thru, rear window decal, a gun rack, gun cover, cleaning kit and your choice of either a Winchester or Mossberg pump shotgun. I got the Winchester. Great for skeet until that got too expensive.
