Trump tells ATF that he wants to ban bump stocks
(if you did not see this coming after las vegas your blind)
since its an aftermarket accessory, to one of the most popular rifles in the U.S.A,
(THERES MILLIONS IN CIVILIAN HANDS) and not a gun,or gun component,
that was designed as a functional original component that effects ,
the firearms original design or function,
its not, going to be seen as a direct infringement on the 2nd amendment
like a magazine ban , or demand the gun be retro-converted too only manual operation, would be

President Trump said Tuesday that he was directing the U.S. Justice Department to ban equipment like the deadly bump stock device that a gunman used to kill 58 people last year at a Las Vegas concert.

“I signed a memorandum directing the attorney general to propose regulations to ban all devices that turn legal weapons into machine guns,” Trump said during a White House ceremony honoring public safety officers.

last time I saw any semi- reliable data there were well over 12 million semi auto MILITARY STYLE RIFLES IN CIVILIAN HANDS EVEN BACK IN 2010, THERE,S EASILY 60% TOO 100% plus MORE NOW. (EASILY 5-6 MILLION PLUS, AR15 CLONES ALONE) as of 2009, there were approximately 310 million firearms in the United States: “114 million handguns, 110 million rifles, and 86 million shotguns.” However, author William J. Krouse went on to note that “data are not available on the number of ‘assault weapons’ in private possession or available for sale, but one study estimated that 1.5 million assault weapons were privately owned in 1994.”
IF YOUR LOOKING FOR THE REAL NUMBERS OF ak CLONES, ar CLONES,m1 CLONES AND DOZENS OF OTHER SEMI AUTO RIFLES I DOUBT THAT THE NUMBER COULD BE ANYWHERE UNDER 25-30 MILLION, THEY HAVE BEEN SOLD VERY COMMONLY IN BOTH CIVILIAN AND SURPLUS VERSIONS SINCE THE MID 1960S AND IN LIMITED NUMBERS SINCE THE LATE 1930S
Id also point out records on sales are frequently ignored or destroyed on purpose,due to worries about future confiscation or regulation.

I wish that people and the News Media would understand what an assault rifle is, which is highly regulated by the BATFE and if you could find one for sale, you still may not get it for the Sheriff in the County you live in will not sign off for you to get it, and silencers also.

Proper term would be assault style weapon, which means it only looks like the real thing, but isn't. Remember the 12 year old kid that got shot by police because he had an Air Soft pistol that looked like a real pistol? Call things as they really are and don't embellish with untruths that play on emotions. Laws are man made to protect us all as a collective, and when you break those laws, you should pay the price. Do the crime--do the time. But not in today's society, for people THINK that moral rights are better than the rights of the courts to prosecute and with some of the Judges we have in our court systems, the criminals are winning. With them winning comes chaos and anarchy, and the U.S.s down fall. We will fall from within as all other Democracies have.

If the Govmn't wants my Bump stock, they will have to pay me $10,000.00 to get it or just come take it if they can find it. Call me crazy, but like you said, there are millions out there.

just like the previous 10 year long "ASSAULT RIFLE BAN HAD" you can,t help but see the political pressure ,
to punish the innocent, for the acts of the few insane, obviously if your intent on doing others harm,
you will find a way to do so and a person intent on doing similar violent acts won,t be concerned with breaking a few minor laws.

banning a mechanical device of which theres hundreds of thousands already in civilian hands and a device thats easily manufactured in and home workshop,
is about as logical as passing a law,

I just wish Trump would try one out before he starts speaking of a ban. If I were a crazed lunatic hellbent on killing as many as I could of all rifles that I own the bump stock or slidefire rifles I have wouldn't be in my thought process. A bumpstock/slidefire gun is about the most hard to aim/shoot guns I own after the 3rd round the gun is uncontrollable and useless they are fun to shoot and a novelty but that is it. I bet I haven't even taken mine out of the safe for 2 years. The Las Vegas shooting was the perfect storm and I still swear that the sound of the gunfire in Vegas that was not a bumpstock as stated by the MSM.
 
I fully agree that banning bump stocks will have absolutely no effect on the idiots that cause these crimes

I have been reading a lot about this Florida school shooting and the more I read the more I'm convinced. Now please don't call me a commie or nutcase but the day this happened I told the woman something smells fishy and I hate to think in this country even liberals wouldn't use the killing of children to further their agenda but the more I read and listen the more I'm convinced this was a set up. The sheriff (who should be charged with 17 counts of murder) is a flaming liberal HELL-liary supporter and is willing to enact serria law and most of the on the scene officers wouldn't enter the building because the shooter had an AR first how did they know this and second do they not have AR's on them in their cars I know that I'm from a very small town with not much crime yet and our force carries AR's in their cars. This whole deal stinks to high heaven and I hope I'm wrong so call me what you want but this WAS a planned murder of 17 innocent children to further a liberal cause. Plus the kid that's going around the country on all the talk shows as an eyewitness student of the shooting graduated from a school in Commiefornia in 2015
