Tuners

WE have all seen the adds and magazine advertisements, that show an instant 15-20 hp boost with a simple chip swap...
YES in some cases, THERE MAY BE minimal gains,
BUT IN MY EXPERIENCE, you'll get a great deal better real value ,if you carefully research,
your other options , like headers ,ignition upgrades, a performance intake upgrade, and in many cases just a good tune-up.
Ive seen several guys dyno test, before and after with the chips from several sources, one guy LOST 3 hp, and several gained 4-7 hp even though most advertising listed 15-20 hp gains
now you have to consider the guys programming the chips , compare the results, to a stock engine, then they optimize the engines , do a tune, and then only program the chips.
now the concept has obviously improved over the years,
but when I installed a chip in my 1985 corvette , back in the early 1990s, it made a bit better lower rpm power, (about 7 hp, but it made no difference above about 4000 rpm.)
I took it out about two years later when I started having intermittent idle issues and those issues disappeared.
yeah, not all that impressed but your results may vary

Home programmers work better on Diesel trucks.
Simple fact Turbo Boost is ramped up higher.

Gas engines need more internal work to get big gains.

I have had good results with programmers in my 2003 Dodge RAM 1500 5.9 Magnum (Superchips)
and my 2000 Suburban 1500 5.3 (Diablosport Predator).
The Superchips was kind of basic (but its also older) compared to the Diablosport, who have plenty of things to alter/tune.
I could describe them if i could write better in english, but im limited to basic words.
With the Diablosport i have tweeked shiftpoints, shiftpressure, torque managment, throttle vs shiftpoints, and several other things, so it feels so much better to drive.
You should do a research on the Ford forums and find out what seems the best option for the Raptor, i dont think its the Superchips, but i could be wrong also...;)

Hard to Tell.
Most of us here are old school Hotrodders and Racers.
Tech has come along ways.

If you can research and find the Raptor Engine cylinder head flow specs it will give a Good mechanical foundation how much Hp Can be had .
Basic 1 cfm flow can make 2 hp.
Not perfect because mild stock cams tend produce less Hp where radical race cams far exceed that basic value.
