Its Ed's Brainstorm & His TIG Welding Skills.
Pretty Darn Good.
He is a Perfectionist.....many headaches...many swear words from ED.

I helped fit individual parts, cut, grind, hand port, blend & smooth out.
Also I held parts steady like a statue while he tacked - TIG Welded away.

TWO Special Air To Liquid intercoolers - Charge Air Coolers for 2 cars being Fabbed Built in 1-1/2 Weeks.
Both Northside Chicago R8 V10 Street Racers.

1987 Mercury Cougar with a Dart Block 347 ci Ford V8 Grumpy.
Should be around 600 Hp give or take some to the rear wheels.
We are doing all to make it run and drive once again.'
We are not EFI Tuning it though.
Fuel Tank is rear sumped MOROSO Drag Race Style By Ed.

The R8 should have 1,000 HP... at least that's the Target Goal.
10 psi Boost levels.

I am having dinner with my Bud Ed.
Discussing Drag Racing today Grumpy.
Out of control costs.

I Mentioned Street Outlaws.

Ed is Running his 5.0 again later this year.

Driving home in the '63 GP.
Ed says 1/8 mile Racing is In Grumpy.
All Due to The TV show Street Outlaws.

A lot of people do seethe advantages but the up front cost for good machines and expendables is high. I do fabrication work constantly and don't have either. Been watching CL for used equipment for a long time.

I have been paying attention to what is Trending here & in Chicago Land Birdman.
I know there is a group of Road Racers hanging out at Route 66 Raceway at the NASCAR Track.
Drag Racing has shifted to 1/8 mile to my amazement...was always small Farm town style racing around Bloominton - Normal & southern Illinois tracks.
EVERY SINGLE GEARHEAD THAT STOPS IN EDS GARAGE TALKS ABOUT STREET OUTLAWS TV SHOW.....SUPER ADRENALINE RUSH....LOUD CUSSING & RANTING TAKES PLACE.
Ed said also tonight those Mother Fickers have Twin Turbo Big Block Chevies !

8.75 ET is Ed's best in 1/4 mile.
I was there at Byron Raceway in 2004 when he did that run.
Likely Going Turbo charged.
Vortech YSi charger being retired.

I BROUGHT UP PRO TOURING TO ED TONIGHT.
HE SAID " WHAT THE FICK IS THAT ?
I explained and said that's what the Corvette guys are into yet.....I drove the '63 G.P again today to his house.
He lost interest immediate.
Changed topics back to Racing & Street Performance Street Race.

What! I have a ZX45AD I bought from Bolton that is a great starter machine. Also have an Eastwood 200 AC/DC TIG with 60 amp plasma cutter that runs on 110 or 220 v. Both are like new with less than 1 hours use. The system comes complete with every conceivable accessory. I listed this before without a bite so it just sits in all the original packing. I can offer a price you can't refuse.

The Audi R8 V10 is Gone and Custom Twin Intercoolers and Cold side piping completed.
Ed and me worked our tails off this past week on the 1987 Mercury Cougar Single Turbo 347 Ford Winsdor Dart Block V8.
Left to get exhaust work done pipes bent up & mufflers.
We were missing the Factory EECIV ECM.
Owner is out of $ at the moment.
Car is close to Running and driving.
Maybe Revisit later this Summer.
Owner wants Just Ed & Myself working on his car.

Ed & Me have been working on that 1987 Mercury Cougar for the last week Grumpy.
Its running.
Got the Brakes bleed and stopping like new today.
Almost done.
Pictures coming.
