News like this makes me appreciate the life I was born in, and happy that i'm nearing the end of my life span.
I would like to say that I feel bad for the younger generation, but it seems that they are bringing on their own problems.

According to LONGTIMER the C8 has to appeal to my Generation X and main sales there.

I was reading last night Grumpy.

They have Gasoline Particulate filters in use in Europe.
Direct injection cars burn dirty compared to Old port fuel injection.
100 times more than Diesel engines.

DPF diesel Particulate filters are huge.

No idea how you would fit on a Mid engine C8.
No room.
Likely has to be EV electric C8 for Europe.

Just so screwed up.
Raminifications abound.
Demos.
 
Our clean air Macks with the DEF ARE CONSTANTLY GOING INTO" RE GEN" NOW! Loss of power,gota pull over 15/20 minutes & let it run its course. Real POS !!! Sometimes we gota call our tow company have em towed back to the terminal.

Same with All modern Diesel DPF School buses.
All Semi Trucks today.
Run out of DEF Fluid your screwed.
Shut down going nowhere.
No way to Hotwire bypass.
Can't even bypass for emergency with Factory laptop software.
 
One of our delivery guys told me the same thing about their Diesels.
He said that the government or who ever mandated the use of DEF has now found out that it is worst for the enviroment than engines that
don,t use it at all. Imagine that!
I have not done any research on that claim, so this is just hearsay for now...

My Duramax does not use the DEF, but it does go into a re-gen about once every tank of fuel.

DEF Fluid is Cow Urine sanitized purified mixed with Deionized water.
Don't know.
