Unforgiven Project

So Coty an I were talking about different carbs last week , and the old Webber carbs came up. I had mentioned how I would like to have one just to mess around with. Well after a couple days I had found out that my wife caught part of the conversation and she decided to take action.

Last Saturday she came home from a shopping trip and told me she overheard Coty and I talking about the Webber and said she thought she seen one somewhere and went to go look for it.

This is what she bought!!!!

Oh she got me out alright... I had to powerwash the darn deck Sunday. Now I have to stain it... She now says this weekend we are going to buy all the flowers for the gardens and porch... and I have to take my mother-in-law with us!!
I miss my motor.

Race Engine !
A Mans escape !

Another update :
Ryan stopped by last night to collect some money for the machining.
All the outsourced machine work is done and they have the deck plates bolted on and are waiting for their machine to open up. My block will be next in line for honing, which will be today or tomorrow. Ryan said that he will be bringing it back to me on Friday!!!
He told me that the reason for taking so long was that the outsource company they use dropped the ball on my block and it was just sitting.
He used one of my Quotes on them that I had used on him once ..."Asked if they wanted me to send down my special motivational task force crew to
micro manage and over see the operation"... He had the block back in two days!:D

My total machine costs were $730.. I gave Ryan $1000 in an envelope and told him the rest was his.
So It looks like I am going to be washing a block this weekend!!!!! Can't wait to see it and verify all the machine work is in spec. It's been a long time
waiting on this thing. I will take some pics when it arrives. :)

I sure hope it all works out and you don't end up wanting that nice TIP back!

I am hoping for the best! :)
Can't wait to get it washed and painted so I can verify all the machine work.
Then I am going to have to just look at the block for a couple days without doing anything, just to tame my excitement! It,s been a long wait for all this machining. I don,t want to rush through this motor.

I'm trying my best Brian... But I have conceded to the fact that my season is over before it got started.
I'm just going to slow down and build this thing to last!

You are forgetting the most important thing.... I still need to save more funds for a few more parts while keeping to wife happy! LOL

Run generous top ring gap since boost and nitrous. Want at least .030" top.
Accurate preferred Tool Room Gold series Snap On torque wrenches to assemble.

I was going to ask about the ring clearances.. I was reading that it suggests .006 per bore inch which would take my rings to .024 .
I have seen guys taking them out farther but... I'm not 100% sure on the gap.

I have a nice PROTO torque wrench , along with a few other torque wrenches. The PROTO
wrench was just certified a few months ago.

Get orgined.
Throw wife's crap out of garage.
Work benches cleared.
All chemicals supplies and tools cleaned spotless. Floors clean.
No dust.
Clean operating room area 20x20

The barn is completely filled with my junk! No one to blame there!
This weekend is all about doing a good cleaning and a final powerwash of the barn floor.
Lucky It,s a long weekend . LOL

It will work

When combined power adders are used you simply look at + Hp more in use activated.
Such as +200, +300, +500 ,+750 Hp more.

Look at the Nitrous piston ring gap charts.

Make no mistake... she watches all that stuff with me. She likes it (whether she admits or not) , but like most wive's, she does not like to see
how much it costs!

I will look at the nitrous charts also.. thanks
It's costing me lots of money too.
As long as there is Bill money and she has some spending $$$ she is Ok.

I was reading somewhere here that Grumpy made a piston ring installer
by using a piece of PVC coupler and spinning it on a lathe. I think I may try to make one as to save a few dollars.
