the answer depends a great deal on both what your goals are and what weapons your interested in using.
ok, just a few
when casting bullets its absolutely critical that the bullets are cast and sized to be .001 over bore size,
lubed correctly and the alloy needs to have a minimum of 4% pure tin in the mix.
Id also strongly suggest buying a decent press
I like the Lee collet die for sizing the necks of rifle brass as it does not work the brass more than necessary. The tip I read on the internet that I really liked was to shorten the collet so that it does not crimp the end of the neck. This leaves the neck flared ready to seat the bullet. For target shooting leaving the neck flared will help center the neck in the chamber. I now size the necks of rifle brass with the Lee collet die and the body separately with a full length sizing die that has the neck part enlarged so as not to touch the necks. This is not as much work as it sounds like and I fell this should extend the life of the brass.
Grumpy I bought a bunch of used reloading stuff from the local pawn shop I got a set of RCBS #18606 44mag dies & there seems to be something missing it doesn't want to resize
I'm going to call RCBS Monday and see if I am missing a bushing or something the shell slides into all 3 dies with no resistance or maybe I'm doing something wrong it is the only RCBS die set I have
