I have a 72 Monte and thinking about putting a 396 stroker in it.. I work at h&m parts warehouse in Jacksonville Florida we are also a machine shop so that part is covered...i have a virgin vortech 350. I'm ordering a eagle rotating assembly and with the 6.00" rods and 5cc . pistons. this with my 64cc vortech heads will put the compression at 10.8...I'm wanting to boost preferably turbo but willing to supercharger $$$ will decide that... is this acceptable compression to turbo. I've had a nitrous car this is new for me... I can also put on 74cc edlebrock heads if this helps it will bring the compression to 9.3. I'm trying to stay pump gas as well.... please help suggestions are always welcome I'm here to learn I'm 28 not many my age out there into this... they rather have Honda or something weak... help me keep this tradition alive...."

Recommended Spark Plugs for Vortec Heads

AC Delco Rapid Fire Spark Plugs R44LTS
AC Delco Rapid Fire Spark Plugs MR43LTS
AC Delco RapidFire No 3 Sparkplug
ACCEL P526S U-Groove “SHORTY” Double Platinum (approximately 3/16″ shorter then R44LTS)
ACCEL 516
Autolite 26
Autolite 104
Champion RS12YC
Bosch HR10B
Bosch HR10BX
Bosch HR9DC

if your thinking about a turbo application, a compression ratio closer to 8.5:1 is a better option and vortec head would be a less than optimum choice as they are iron which holds heat longer and have small ports that restrict air flow, compared to heads that would be a better match
