ok youve got some mid 60s to low 80s 350 4 barrel V8 like a 275-300hp 350 sbc, with a 4 speed transmission and 3.36-3.73 rear gears and its fun to drive in that old nova , chevelle,or camaro, but it sounds pretty pathetic, your thinking of adding headers, and a low restriction exhaust too the car, thinking its going to change to a much more aggessive sound!...
...you want that muscle car rumble in the exhaust, but your not rich
well, no exhaust or mufflers is going to give you the sound you want, because the engine itself won,t currently produce the exhaust pulse frequency and pressure that generates that sound or anything close to it,
add a 3" low restriction exhaust and those low restriction mufflers and a decent cam and youll be MUCH closer to your goal.
your running a low cpr in that 350

want to boost hp and get a rumble???

your limited in choices due to clearance issues with the stock valve train, but your not screwed if youll tollerate a lopey idle and a loss of low rpm tq ,and since youve got a mid 3 series rear gear and a manual transmission, you can, install this cam, and some RHODES LIFTERS, youll trade some low rpm tq for noticably more upper mid range power, it will sound almost like a solid lifter cam, and produce a nice power curve, in that 9:1 -10:1 cpr smogger 350

MUCH BETTER THAN STOCK POWER, BUT STILL REASONABLY

NOTICABLY WILDER BUT STILL DRIVEABLE AND USEABLE IN A DAILY DRIVER

now naturally youll need to research the exact headers and exhaust for your application but heres some exhamples

good info here i personally love the sound of the purple hornie series mufflers. and also remember for a street cruiser with less than 500 lift a hydraulic cam and lifters will suit you very well and still give you great sound
