well did anyone get any new tools for the new year?

I was not in position financially to load up on new tools ,
like most of us would do if money was never an issue
, but I know a couple of the local guys I hang out with acquired a few new tools,
or tool chests etc.
so what if anything did you get lately. (or continue to lust over?)
its not how expensive a tool might be, thats important, sometimes you just needed a new dial caliper, or a few wrenches to make life simpler.
one local guy purchased a set of 25 mm-40 mm deep impact 1/2" drive, sockets hes wanted for a few years he caught on sale,
and while that might not seem like much its made him rather happy.
one guy had his plans for a new shop approved for the next year, so hes thrilled!

I bought the men in family hand tools Grumpy.
Brother In Law.
My Dad he is still around your age.
My little brother.
Went to Sears in Joliet 1 hr away.
Closing down also.
Big blowout sale.
Store shelves even were for sale.
Bought them identical each.
Craftsman Hand wrench sets.
Drove back to Rural King local.
Bought Milwaukee Tool impact bit kits.
For use with cordless drills and impact drivers.
Bought 4.
1 for me.
Bought a nice Craftsman long reach drift punch set for me also.
For Vintage Auto Transmission work.

Got no tools this year as gifts.
That is ok.

Spent $225 on the Men.
Not bad.

Haven't been buying any tools but I am lusting after a 1956 panel truck I located in a farmers field. I find myself driving by every other day making sure it hasn't grown legs and walked off! I need it like I need a hole in my head but I just can't help myself.

No tools for me, but I probably have too many already. I guess that's a good problem to have. I want more empty space. Been trying to makes piles of stuff that I will probably never use, but it still is good stuff and I would like to see "someone" make use of it. I just can't throw good stuff away. But we are the last of the dinosaurs. No one works on stuff anymore - or even knows how to or wants to. I could try to list it on ebay, but that takes time & effort, and that can be better spent on my other projects.

why not list stuff here? (pictures and asking price would be nice)
I'm sure everyone reading that says , what is he referring too?
I may need some of the stuff your willing to part with.
and if the prices is right I'm sure we could both benefit,
from the exchange here

I had a guy I know junk a car that got crushed,
(1965 Pontiac Bonneville that did not run, BAD TRANS, crappy condition, interior)
Id offed him a couple hundred dollars for the car previously ,
several times, I ask him why he had not called me before having the local scrap yard haul it away for far less cash?
he just looked at me with a blank look and could not give me a reason other than it was a spur of the moment decision.

I agree Grumpy. I no longer do any work but my kids and grand kids do. So waste a little time and show us what you got.

I was fairly lucky this year. My wife (of 35 years) purchased a new 1/2" drive Kobolt torque wrench and a new 75/25 welding tank for me.

Then I would guess that you never gave her a vacuum cleaner for your anniversary.

Actually !!! I did have a learning curve one year when I indeed bought here a new broom for her birthday!
