What Do You Have Your Thermostat Set At When It’s Hot Out

I know about human physiology yet I’m completely stumped why older people are wearing sweaters and their home ac is set at 80 when it’s so dam hot and humid out.
My In-laws invited me over, they know I can’t breath in their house when it’s in the 80s INSIDE! The old man is 91 and has to wear a jacket. I get heatstroke just looking at him!
On the other hand I know most of you would die in our house, the Tstat is set for 69 degrees.

I know My D/I/L would set my AC thermostat a 66F if I let her, I prefer it at about 72F

if your physically running around 66F is just fine,
but if your sitting at a computer, or watching the TV, the slightly warmer 72F feels ok.

and theres no reason to be cold and no need to make anyone else sweat either,

I keep one in the car trunk for times when the restaurant seats you ,
directly under an air conditioner vent and fan.
vests like this also have the added advantage that the wife knows you'll wear it if your cold,
so she won't drag you to expensive restaurants , because...the wife knows you'll wear it if your cold

I have to sleep in a quest room because my wife likes a freezing cold bedroom. In the winter the kids and I go insane complaining. She has all the windows open and it’s in the mid 40s come December. Right now the AC is going and three fans!

Right now I’m bringing car parts inside to work on them in cooler -drier temperatures. Oh, I can be fine set at 70 or 71 in the summer. We get heat gain from all the uncovered windows, the other house is much worse with 3 times the windows and double the size.
This week I’m measuring every window and going to buy the window tint film to block the UV light and heat. I have to do one window in the type that looks like a mirror finish on the one side and see how it looks from the outside. I don’t want to block the views either.
I did some of this before, it’s a major PITA and forget it if you are having a bad day!
