obviously there's hundreds of options , vendors and brands read carefully,
and Ideally try to find a fuel pump that had both the correct port size for the fuel lines and flow capacity.
at the ideal pressure range you need and ideally at a reasonable price and from a trusted vendor.
first determine the type of fuel pump you need(internal in the fuel tank like the C4 corvette )
or a manual engine mounted fuel pump
, (or an external electric fuel pump)
many BUT NOT ALL<muscle cars benefit from swapping from the factory manual fuel pump to the frame mounted electrical fuel pumps
here's a few options please add what you've found and used along with the rated flow capacity and price.
personally I think most people fail to read or just don't understand what the pump pressure and flow capacity ratings mean, keep in mind most pumps for carburetor use require a fuel pressure regulator and most pumps for EFI use are mounted inside fuel tanks on systems designed to use a FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR AND RETURN LINE

Return Line in fuel system?
Is it possible to plumb the return line of the fuel system to the fuel filter near the gas tank or in the feeding fuel line via Y fuel block? I thought about the Y block to not interrupt the fuel flow like when using a T block. I ask that because my original gas tank (1955 Chevrolet) has no plug...

too much or too little fuel pressure?
Need advice. I have a 1956 Chevy truck. The problem I'm having is every time I put the gas pedal to the floor the truck gets up and takes off. After I let off the gas the truck sputters and dies. I open the hood and look at the fuel pressure regulator it reads zero and won't pressure up. I have...

fuel pump rated flow and its limitations
Looking to buy a 80gph mechanical fuel pump for my '66 396. Specs: Headers Holley 750 Mild cam Alum intake 0.060 bore TH400 trans I Don't race it. At all. So does a 80gph pump on my setup require a regulator? If so, will it then need a return line? I've looked at stock pumps. Most are old...

fitting internal passages restrict fuel flow rates
-6AN fittings and dimensions I just noticed all the -6AN fittings I have, have a 5/16 or smaller id hole! The -8AN fittings have a hole big enough to completely insert a 3/8 copper line into. Can I assume that -6an is sufficient to plumb the fuel pump ports to the filter reg ports? And then...

Input on electric fuel pump selection
Not sure what that will do for electric pumps having to pull the fuel from the mat, Does seem to be a viable option vs the sump, a bulkhead fitting and some hose would do the trick, as everything car related cost will be the primary driver as to how much of the market it will corner. Neal

Can a mechanical fuel pump be too big?
What I mean is, can it be moving too much fuel? I know the formula for figuring out minimum fuel pump size, I know how to account for restrictions of fuel lines, fittings, etc. But say you're running a 150gph pump, when your engine only requires maybe a 80-110gph pump (again, correcting for...
