now obviously WHAT your working on and how badly your covered with different layers of the typical greasy dirt you can easily get on yourself while working on cars in general varies a great deal but most of us have a hose or a shop sink we used with some type of soap or solvent to clean up? the combo of hot water, scotch-brite abrasive pads and citrus oil based solvent seems to work

I had a bathroom and a decent size sink installed in my shop to help with that need to clean up after working on my cars

I'm cheap and currently use laundry powder..... Works as well as some of the hand cleaning products I've bought in the past.. :D

I used to buy a large bottle of DAWN dish washing liquid,
it works but not as well as the citrus solvent and scotch brite pads.
pour some dawn detergent and the citrus detergent in a larger squirt bottle, in a 50%/50% mix and leave it on the shop sink

I like the original GOJO Hand Cleaner.
Works still after being around at least 50 years.
Pumice based hand cleaners clean your hands easier but tears up and dries up your skin.
GOJO Takes off Diesel Engine Grease , Real Nasty Chit.

I use a mix of gojo orange and zep walnut hand cleaner, it cuts anything including dry paint. Mix it 50/50, rub it in for 5 minutes, rinse and am sparkling clean.
