Engine specs are - 350 target master, elelbrock performer rpm & 600 carb, 4 into 1 headers, 2 1/2 flowmaster exhaust, pertronix ignition, M20 4 speed and 3.31 rear gears with 25" tall rear tires. Vehicle is street use only - no strip appearances. Car has power steering and brakes, and I would like to install AC someday. Will be installing modified Vortec heads (springs & retainers for .575 lift). I will be using an edelbrock performer rpm vortec intake. I am eyeballing the Lunati Voodoo 262 cam (219/227 at .050, .469/.489 lift. 112 lsa), but am concerned this is too much cam for street use. I am looking for peak HP and torque by say 5500 rpm. Does anyone have experience in this type of engine setup. Any and all input is appreciated.
Ive had good results in similar builds with this crane cam, but Ive generally used it with 1.6:1 ratio rockers, and yeah! I know what it says about the 3.73:1 rear gear, I,ve run it even with 3.08 gears and a manual trans with good results, but its about as radical in a mild build 350 as you can get and still maintain decent or at least fully working power brakes, yeah you can go wilder but it tends to result in compromises, keep in mind OEM or most 170cc-177cc vortec heads on a 350 displacement will begin being restrictive at about 5500rpm even with the cam upgrade so theres no real reason to add a lot more duration, its best to maximize the mid rpm torque curve, remember the smaller combustion chamber volume on those vortec heads tends to raise the compression on that target master 350, select the correct head gaskets and 9.75:1-10:1 compression with those vortec heads can be reached
summit sells a similar cam for less money

heres a video of that cam with a sound track you can listen too, there won,t be much difference in the sound but I think crane uses a bit better materials

DD2000 predicts something close to this, if you clean up the ports, use headers and a low restriction exhaust, notice torque peaks near 4600rpm ,power peaks near 5600rpm, making it a good street cam.
