now Ive always felt that certain engines just LOOKED more impressive,and easily produce 450 plus horsepower, like the HEMI and BOSS 429, ford cammer,and 392 early hemi, and big block 454-572 chevy and that factor alone makes them a decent candidate for many applications

now Ive got nothing against the SBC , Pontiac ,Buick and mopar wedge engines and they can also produce good horsepower levels but for visual impact the big blocks listed above tend to just make a better impression
 
Given the choice, I'd do a mild cammed low compression, mid-goost BBC. Procharger supercharger...

But it's so much fun when you put it on the BBs with your SBC!!! :eek: In my case the car weighs less than 1800 lbs, so I'm not worried about having enough HP. But you're right about the every day car!

In this last picture, I'd be a little concerned about moving that engine around on that dolly. It doesn't have a very wide stance.

when you get into the more exotic... I like this as it looks a great deal like an aluminum V12 BIG BLOCK CHEVY
