Jack (one of the guys I hunt with) occasionally carries one, as a combat weapon its certainly easily concealed and fast and lethal in practiced hands, but personally Id prefer a bit more mass, and a hand guard would be nice
on the lower end ID consider the older KBAR
or the, "in theory," up graded newer version
personally I really like more blade mass and would GLADLY put up with less conceal-ability for more mass in the blade

like all edged weapons its the skill, experience and training of the user that maters more than the actual blade design, but pure physics will show a bit of significant mass and 7-9 inches of rigid razor edge, can provide devastating slash and hack and penetration, while its true that you only need about 3"-4" of blade length to provide lethal single strike penetration in skilled hands when you know anatomy the longer heavier blade has significant advantages if your trained to use it correctly.
