now in my experience, if you need wheelie bars on your car to maintain directional control and traction,you've got a few suspension mods or chassis tuning issues that need work,but I also agree that they can be a helpful addition in some cases.
now admittedly Ive never had a car that really required wheelie bars,(even my race cars with 700-750 hp big blocks had suspensions that only let the car lift the front wheels for a few dozen yards on a hard launch) and yes I think the wheelie bars look bad,sticking out of the ass of your race car and look ludicrous on a street car, now thats mostly because Ive built mostly road race cars that don,t require them or have mostly concentrated on building muscle cars, and corvettes, and only a few of those cars went faster than the high 9 second to mid 10 second E.T. range in the 1/4 mile and most were slower , as most of the cars I build engines for are at least occasionally driven on the streets.
