"Where do you guys find your v8's for swapping? Im having trouble finding a decent priced small block that runs"

SUMMIT SELLS G.M. BLOCKS you can use to build a 383 for $700 plus shipping , but ID suggest limiting power to about 500 hp with these

OR you can spend a bit more and get a far stronger and thicker casting for about $1550

Ive had the best results buying complete running or none running older cars, usually cars found sitting in car ports and back yards that are rather obviously not being used.
in many cases if you offer $100-$200 for a rusty old non running car after looking it over youll find the owners willing to take the offer, you then strip the drive train and tow the rest to a salvage yard where they frequently pay you $100 for the scrap steel .
salvage yards generally charge more and you don,t get the advantage of selling the steel as scrap later
BTW old crappy 1960-1980 motor homes are a prime source of BIG BLOCK ENGINES.
I've always been rather pleasantly surprised that if you keep your eyes open, and constantly ask at garage sales or auto shows for leads on old cars for sale, you'll occasionally find a whole non-running, or badly rusted, or wrecked car, or truck, you can buy for pennies on the dollar for far less than just an engine or trans alone may cost.
I've purchase a couple cars that way, I purchased a 1970 Chevy station wagon with a th400 and 402 bbc for $100 back in the late 1980s simply because the windshield leaked badly and the interior was rotting, it still ran it just smelled like a toilet and was coated with mildew.
I was given a 1974 Pontiac lemans that some kid drove in a lake by backing it up with a boat trailer, if I would haul it away, so don,t assume everything will cost you a great deal of cash, keep looking around and asking for info on older cars
