GRUMPY? Ii can get a good deal on a pair of dynatech BBC headers for my 69. problem is that they are for tall deck blocks and i´m running a standard block but with brodix bb2-x heads so they are raised. anybody with some information on it? the headers are gonna be 150$ off the regular standard deck prize. is it more trouble and better to spend the 150$?
to my knowledge there are no commercial headers designed to fit a 1969 camaro with standard deck block and those BRODIX heads with .600 taller raised exhaust ports, now thats not saying they won,t fit, as they might, because a tall deck blocks a bit taller (.0400 and wider) and the taller exhaust ports on the brodix heads will make it fairly close, its just pointing out that theres no factory made headers designed to fit that exact application, so I doubt any header thats going to bolt on without needing some modification at some point, thats why having a welder and some fabrication skill is so important in this hobby once you advance past the
"buy and bolt it on stage of hot rodding", Id say your chances are rather good that the modifications needed will be minimal, but you won,t know until you try the instal, personally Id go for thos headers and expect its not going to be all that difficult to get them to fit Please post the header part number and several CLEAR pictures from several perspectives of the instal and any modifications (IF ANY) that were required to get them to fit so the next guy with a similar build will have more info.
