Buttigieg: Families who buy electric vehicles 'never have to worry about gas prices again'

These morons act like electricity is free. Like there is already infrastructure in place. Like it takes five minutes to recharge the batteries. Like the batteries never need to be replaced (assorted quotations from various articles - GOOGLE "cost to replace tesla battery"): "the cheapest estimate for an out-of-pocket, uncomplicated battery replacement on the Model S should run at about $12,000-$13,000;" "Case in point: this nearly $16,000 Tesla Model 3 battery replacement invoice from a Tesla service department posted by Current Automotive;" "According to Tesla, the battery pack needed to be replaced, and it was going to cost a whopping $22,500."). $22,500??? That's the equivalent of 562.5 tanks of gas at $40 per tank. If you burn a tank per week, that's almost 11 years of gasoline.
Something else that bothers me is people act like all of the electricity used in those electric cars from their charging stations is generated by wind or solar which is absolutely not the case. Pretty much all of the electricity generated for those cars in a charging station is made by burning some kind of fossil fuel. So that would make them even more naïve and stupid.

another reason not to get EV.
low on charge during trip, plug it in, go shopping
come back only to find out some jerk disconnected the charger and stole it for their own use.
leaving you stranded no way to get home. untill reconnect wasting all that time.
Thieves are targeting valuable EV charging cables
Having your charging cable stolen could leave your EV with a flat battery, and cause a hefty hit to your bank balance, too.
