...Taking me for a foolish, stubborn buck...

I called New Era Racecraft to order a new belt, oil and... I couldn't resist... a smaller driven pulley for the supercharger. 4.00 down to 3.60. I chatted a long time with Kyle. The idea was to uptick boost as far as I could safely... without compromising the block, head gaskets or anything related. Reliability and durability was conveyed as paramount. We settled on 3.60. Stay tuned.

theres ALWAYS a tendency, in this hobby to push for (JUST A BIT MORE) that needs to be resisted, at some point, that if you ignore common sense eventually and inevitably results in reaching and exceeding that last STRAW THAT BREAKS THE CAMELS BACK" point!
you may not know your there till its getting REAL EXPENSIVE REALLY FAST, with a BUNCH OR OIL SMOKE AND BANGING NOISE

on a positive out look its most likely the rear differential rather than the engine thats likely to be the weak link in the chain at this point
or you can look at things from a racing humor stand point "IF IT BREAKS IT NEEDED REPLACING ANYWAY"

What octane fuel? Got a methanol injection kit? Any way to read knock?

With meth injection you can safely run more boost on pump gas I went from 16psi to 24psi had to add more fuel but spraying meth drops the charge temp and adds octane great way to suppress detonation.

Yes - I do have a water/meth kit. I also can program ignition curve via laptop to pull out a few degrees of advance at boost. I am using the highest available octane on pump gas. 98 RON or MON over here... not sure what that is over there... 91?

Turbo Buick? FYI, I am running a 200-4R I rebuilt myself. ;) I am a little concerned about the D5. What did you do to your 200-4R?

As for my rear end, I decided not to pursue launch traction and low 60' times. On the other hand, I want this to fly down the second half of the track. (Nothing to do with getting my @$$ handed to me by a porsche on the highway.)

Water/Meth for sure. Carefully dial in the ignition. I am going to raise the rev limiter to 6150 and shift at 6000.

I also think I am going to get one of those infinitely adjustable a carb plates and then head for the dyno.

One thing I need to take care of is the power steering pulley - it is domed, not flat, in interferes with the supercharger belt that I am just replacing. I think I'll have to pull the pulley and machine it flat.

Oh, and I do have a knock sensor.
What kind of knock sensor do you use? is it specific to your caburetor model?
I have no knock sensor, i've looked into it and i could not find something suitable for my needs all i found is OEM replacment sensor without reading/display module.

Ok thanks.
Do you like it? it works well?, i want to buy one, should i go ahead and buy or its not worth the spending?
This is the only knock alert module i have seen around(for our aplication), apparently they dont sell it at summit anymore.. or jegs too.
Did you buy it directly from msd? seem like they are the only one selling it now.

I originally got it from Summit. I like it. It works well. It is adjustable - which is a plus. It will pick up noises that are not detonation either so you gotta make sure you track down all the rogue noises as well. I have had it for many years and am happy with it.

I too rebuilt my 200R4 no upgraded hard parts just a performance pump. I just installed a 3200 stall 10" to help the turbo spool have not had a chance to drive it much but the 1 road test I had it sure felt nice, front cover on the motor had an oil leak .

Can your Alky kit take straight meth? Most of the Turbo Buick guys don't use any water.

Its nice to have knock detection! Don't want to hurt all that hard work.

11.88 was on this trans?

Yes it can take straight meth.

And YES I am glad that knock sensor is there!

yup  11:88 on my home built trans soft launches off the foot brake my best 60 foot was 1.78, hits like a train going into second WOT on a sticky track.

Can you hook the knock sensor into a fail safe, my factor ecm just pulls timing.

Do you have any advice on how to use the unit(Knock alert)? Like on adjusting the sensitivity and/or tracking down other noise.
I plan on having the sensor at the bottom of the block on the coolant drain/side block. (side wich are more prone to detonation/is running more lean)
Just bought one, waiting for it to arrive.

To set: I run it to the rev limit with NO load and adjust to green.

And of course track down and parasitical non-detonation related knocking.

As for where to install? Where the plug comes out is what I did. Those fellas are sometimes rusted in there tight. I just took the port that came unplugged. The other was rust-welded shut.
