454 oil pump noise

I've got a bone stock 1987 tbi 454 that I put a new oil pump and timing chain in last spring. Melling part #10778 that I left the high pressure spring in by accident so I run about 60 psi cold. Once the engine is up to temp, I get a rattle-chirp-grinding noise only at 1200 rpm. Only makes it at that rpm! My son and I have stethoscoped it a ton. I originally thought it was the distributor so I replaced the brand new one with another new one but noise is still there. Is it possible that the drive shaft that come with that pump is too long? Engine runs great and is SUPER quiet except at 1200 rpm. 7 quart stock pan, about 3/8-7/16 between pickup and bottom of pan. I have done this same procedure to quite a few of these mid 80's chevy trucks with no problems at all, but this was the first time I used this oil pump. I dont know why I didn't go with the M-77HV that I've always used. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Id check that the oil pump drive shaft length is correct ,and the oil pump pick-up is not touching some part of the oil pan,
and that the oil pump pick-up is BRAZED to the oil pump body so that the,
oil pump pick-up is not actual touching the oil pan side or floor, as it might be loose,, read these links
yes it might be something simple,
like the wrong length of the oil pump drive shaft,
but I'm afraid pulling the oil pan and inspecting the pump and oil pan for indications somethings,
loose or touching at 1200rpm, and vibrating or binding that should not be, is in your future plans at some point

if there is a (noise) at 1200 rpm there is a good chance that somethings got the wrong clearances or its oil pump drive shaft is binding or the oil pump pick-up has vibrated against some part of the oil pan, read these links but it looks like pulling the oil pan for a close inspections in your future plans at some point

Thanks Grumpy for all of the help. I replaced pump with Melling M77hv and corresponding shaft and the noise is gone! I do have another question though. The engine is basically a stock 1987 TBI 454 that has been rebuilt but I know nothing more than this as it was in the truck when I bought it. I pulled the engine and did my normal stuff which is a timing chain and oil pump and a good cleaning and reseal. I used the stock oil filter adapter that has the provisions for an engine oil cooler. I used an aftermarket cooler with 8an lines both ways. This engine has about 58 psi oil pressure when cold and about 54-55 psi hot. both pumps were the same! I'm running 15/40 oil also along with the lower micron PF35L filter. Is this ok or am I missing something or did I do something possibly wrong?

15/40 oil is in my opinion a bit too thick for best lubrication at most ID suggest a good 10w40,synthetic
and personally I would most likely make it a 50%/50% mix of 10w30 and 10w40 and change the filter and oil at no more than 5500-6000 miles
your use of an oil cooler may be a big help, but having a oil temperature gauge is a good idea in an ideal world,
I frequently see guys install oil coolers and a few never install oil temperature gauges
obviously if the cooler is too small it helps ,but if its too large in may never allow oil to reach temps to burn off moisture trapped in the oil.
oil temps stay in about the 210f-230f range most of the time. if you have the clearance use the longer oil filter versions or install dual oil filters,
as having significantly more surface area in the oil filter typically reduces issues with crud build-up over time.
as long as you have 30-35b psi at idle your fine
