I would get TFS heads and match cfm flow iwant. 290 or 325 cfm as fast cast heads and work them if they need phosphor bronze tubes or valve job check cc and polish smooth the chamber only and nock down any sharp edges in there (heat risers) . Super Victor II single carb and velocity stack, or have Colorado hot rod twin carbs with their plenum tops ported and modded as needed on weiand tunnel ram, or normal single carb plenum on holley street ram or weiand tunnel ram or any. The forged hyper alloy pistons smooth round piston sharp edges polished smooth piston tops , 460 with 10.5 to 1 static compression ratio (or if feeling really over- confident 11-1 scr) lifter bores bored to mopar diameter size if meat permitting. Correct rate conical or beehive springs, comp cams solid roller 292/298 -254/260* @.o50" and 0.671"/ 0.678" lifts respectively on 110 lsa / 106 lca. 1.73 comp pro chromoly roller rockers. Comp Cams solid roller cam with MOPAR SIZE isky EZ roller HYDRAULIC roller lifters. Or if meat permitting 1" lifter bore for 1" comp cams top fuel roller lifters this allows more aggressive lobes or walks already aggressive lobes. jetting for near 12.5;1 Air Fuel Ratio at peak tq. and near 15:1 as climb for fuel economy efficiency and power. Expert built 1000hp automatic overdrive transmission, dedicated controlled trans cooling system for converter. 3500 stall extra tight ratio nitrous style converter for part throttle handling/ driving. get an expensive one from magazine and talk to their expert ,dont get a lame converter or lose all your power to tires, major mistake of many a big block and cars and engines with girth and weight although your 1968 torino is a medium light vehicle the engine is heavier than the puny engines. Or use your awesome gutsy 5 speed. Engine band 3000-7200 range. 3.42 through 5.13 gears depending on tires transmission etc. . Really what is your budget, and real expectations for a more accurate build?

At the time I was getting allot of over time. Until fate intervene, it wasn't to far fetch to think I can afford an all new drive train.
My idea for my Torino is to move the battery to the trunk to help keep the weight off the nose. All wheel disk brakes and other modifications that brings my car up to date.
