4L80E no computer... light switches!

Hey if it works Phil.
Kinda of neat idea really.
Just need a GM Shematic of the 4L80E trans to figure out the solenoid wiring.

i think this is a caveman version of the ross-lock that grumpy posted in his "full manual 4l80e" thread

One Koolest Shifters ever made was installed in those 1978-87 G body Hurst Olds with the doggish 307 ci V8 Oldsmobile Engine.
HURST LIGHTING RODS.
Be nice to setup Grumpy with one in his C4 BBC 4L80E DANA60 4-LINK.
He is Old School Too.
Mount lever action micro switches.
Activate the Solenoid A & Solenoid B in his 4L80E.
Mount a Rheostat on console for controlling Pressure control solenoud Line Pressure.
Or connect to gas pedal with a Bell crank lever arm.
Toggle switch for TCC Lockup.
Hurst Lightning Rods will fit in C4 Auto Console.
Its been done 2 times in the past 6-7 years back.

i didnt realize that those were microswitches, i thought it was something like the lenco setup ive seen a couple of those cars here, one just a couple weeks ago. anemic motors but very cool cars nonetheless

No Phil. No micro switches in there.
Add them with custom made machined brackets.

Sometimes on Ebay. Almost bought a set in the past.
Went over $750 the Hurst Lightning Rod Shifter setup. I passed.

ah ok i see you mean to improve this guys light switches with the hurst setup and the microswitches? very cool idea.

Yes.
You still need the Manual Slide Shuttle valve in the 4L80E.
The Gear Train is identical to Turbo 400.
Its likely not been done yet.
Hurst sold a very limited universal Lightning Rod Setup too.
Made for 3-speed Auto Turbo 400 & TH350.
RARE TOO TODAY.. Aluminum Handle & Steel Chrome plated versions I have seen on Ebay.
