I just have to point out that every bow is a USED BOW if its ever been shot, and you might want to visit your local archery shop or local pawn shops for deals on used bows , I've certainly bought and used previously owned bows for decades.
in fact some of the best bow designs are no longer made and only available used.
I've never paid over $300 for a bow and I've seen bows that originally cost over $800-$1000 plus,
that looked almost new, and certainly lightly used major brand names, in pawn shops for under $300.
the key here is in trying several types of bows and learning what features you like and what feels correct in your hands
the best bow made is worthless if you can't draw and shoot it accurately, and that's a skill set learned with hands on practice.
and yes its entirely possible that a bow in a pawnshops damaged , so do your research, know what your looking at and how it should feel.
BTW BRING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS,

YOULL NEED THEM INSTANTLY AVAILABLE,
WHEN YOU GET PRICE QUOTES NEAR OR EXCEEDING $2000,
for a new name brand bow!
(yes there are plenty of excellent brand name bows available at under $500)
