Brake Rotor Coatings

They are powder coated and for a car that's not run a lot maybe it would hold up but a car that's run normal highway and city traffic I really doubt it but I will look at my truck I put coated rotors on it because they were supposed to be the best but I will look for you when I get a chance but with the hot cold cycles a hundred times a trip I doubt it

I’m thinking out loud for a moment. The van sits with the exception of 2 or 3 times a month when I take it out for a short trip back and fourth just to keep the battery charged. It’s only a few miles to the auto garage so there’s little chance any rust could get rubbed off by the brakes.

I’m wondering if I could take the rotors off and soak them in a bath solution of rust remover. Then take it back for re inspection since it failed State inspection over rust issues.

Really? That simple? Oh, I’m for that!
What is the law in PA for when you have repairs that wont allow passing. Don’t you have so many days when you elect to do repairs your self and you’re able to go back to the station without paying again? Trying to find it now.

Sub chapter B, section f, lines 1 through 4
I’m paraphrasing - All defective parts shall be retained until customer comes to claim the vehicle. At this time vehicle owners may inspect parts.
If repairs are needed, the vehicle owner shall be allowed to make their own repairs, designate another person of their choice to perform needed repairs or allow the inspection shop to perform such repairs.
I can’t find any mention of a time limit, however it did say you can bring the vehicle back for validation and the inspection pass sticker without another re-charging of the inspection fees.

I let that shop do a lot of work when it was bitter cold out, stifling hot out or when I physically couldn’t do the work. They never showed me the parts they replaced, even though I requested they do so. They lost my business forever now. I will pull my deal with them over buying one of my trucks. They really wanted it. I’m always amazed when dealing with people and their business. They charge me full price and in turn want me to deeply discount my items they want.

I'm not sure in Pa. weather the take back is a law I always thought that it was up to the individual doing the work its more of a courtesy

Interesting videos. This jogged my memory About 6 years ago I built a electrolysis tank out of parts from an electric water heater. H Depot had a broken HWH for $5 by the exit. My thoughts were for the parts but later a YouTube video showed how to make a electrolysis tank from a old water heater.
