Since pro-gun people love guns what stats would convince them less access to guns and certain guns being banned would result in a safer America?
Well. You asked for stats, so here they are. After you read this, I'd like your response to your own question.
• There are 32,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. U.S. population 324,059,091 as of Wednesday, June 22, 2016(FBI numbers). Do the math: 0.00987% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 32,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death:
• 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws
• 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified
• 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – gun violence
• 3% are accidental discharge deaths
So technically, "gun violence" is not 32,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many? Well, first, how are those deaths spanned across the nation?
• 480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago
• 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore
• 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit
• 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C. (a 54% increase over prior years)
So basically, 25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities. All 4 of those cities have strict gun laws, so it is not the lack of law that is the root cause.
This basically leaves 3,825 for the entire rest of the nation, or about 75 deaths per state. That is an average because some States have much higher rates than others. For example, California had 1,169 and Alabama had 1.
Now, who has the strictest gun laws by far? California, of course, but understand, so it is not guns causing this. It is a crime rate spawned by the number of criminal persons residing in those cities and states. So if all cities and states are not created equally, then there must be something other than the tool causing the gun deaths.
Are 5,100 deaths per year horrific? How about in comparison to other deaths? All death is sad and especially so when it is in the commission of a crime but that is the nature of crime. Robbery, death, rape, assault all is done by criminals and thinking that criminals will obey laws is ludicrous. That's why they are criminals.
But what about other deaths each year?
• 40,000+ die from a drug overdose–
• 36,000 people die per year from the flu, far exceeding the criminal gun deaths
• 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities(exceeding gun deaths even if you include suicide)
Now it gets good:
• 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer in Chicago than when you are in a hospital!
• 710,000 people die per year from heart disease. It’s time to stop the double cheeseburgers! So what is the point? If Obama and the anti-gun movement focused their attention on heart disease, even a 10% decrease in cardiac deaths would save twice the number of lives annually of all gun-related deaths (including suicide, law enforcement, etc.). A 10% reduction in medical errors would be 66% of the total gun deaths or 4 times the number of criminal homicides......Simple, easily preventable 10% reductions!
So you have to ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things, why the focus on guns? It's pretty simple.:
Taking away guns gives control to governments.
The founders of this nation knew that regardless of the form of government, those in power may become corrupt and seek to rule as the British did by trying to disarm the populace of the colonies. It is not difficult to understand that a disarmed populace is a controlled populace.
Thus, the second amendment was proudly and boldly included in the U.S. Constitution. It must be preserved at all costs.
So the next time someone tries to tell you that gun control is about saving lives, look at these facts and remember these words from Noah Webster: "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword, because the whole body of the people are armed and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. A military force at the command of Congress can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power."
So please be honest here. After understanding this do you honestly believe more gun control laws will make America safer than any other control laws for any other potential risk? Be honest. Please. With support for that. Thanks.

I knew exactly where this was going and I agree control is the reason so just look at what is happening with baby formula and gas and diesel this government hates Americans now I know that I'm going to get the wrath of a few on here for my opinion on this so before you bring it I want you to tell me the top 10 things that your Lord Biden has done and I'll give you his whole damn career in the senate and drop it to 5 of the great things that he's done well ok how about 1 and you still can't do it but the 1 great thing about the WH idiot is he doesn't send mean tweets so thats why the liberals love him sell the country down the tubes but don't offend me the liberal doctrine

Somebody has to help me out about this!

Oil prices are set in the world markets so it has nothing to do with political parties or oil drilling anywhere in the oceans or in Federal park lands. For the past 9 years over 70% of available drilling leases available have no takers because limited refinery capabilities Or undesirable when the oil markets are low.
Aside from the countries that have oil as their major export like the Arab Nations and some South American countries, fuel prices in the US are among the lowest. When you adjust for inflation, prices are even lower than most anywhere. Canada, UK and all of Europe and Asia subsidize education and healthcare with taxes on the sale of fuels in their country. In our country we’re damed if we do and damed if we don’t because nobody is ever happy with the way things are done. The nation’s infastructures are old, falling apart, either killing or hurting people and letting it go just costs tremendously more the later it becomes before it is fixed.
People bitch when taxes pay for repairs and improvements and people bitch even more when some politician wants it taken care of - henceforth, damed anyway its done!
I know, lets let everything go to hell and do nothing!

The baby formula shortages on store shelves has been building for a long time due to the pandemic labor shortages. It all has come to a critical point now because Abbot closed the largest Similac plant in February because of contaminated supplies. I believe the WH is currently stepping in and working to invoke the emergency production act to get supplies moving.

I know it’s easy to blame a political party for the crabgrass in the lawns, you still get cavities no matter how much you brush and women, they’re always going to be a pain in the ass, but not everything is directly the fault of whatever President is in power.

why then at the boarder there are truckloads and truckloads and warehouses full of formula for the migrants that we need to take care of and why is gas 4.59 now when 2 years ago it was 1.69

Are you aware that not All baby formula has a shortage? Its only certain types for digestive problems. The retailers did not immediately compensate by ordering production of other types for normal consumption needs. I don’t think your information is clear as you may hear it.

And as for gas prices, do I really need to explain? Did you know that when Russia let it be known what they were doing and filled every available tanker they had with oil for reserve, the OPEC nations cut production out of fear of refinery sabotage and more. Shipping slowed, sanctioning began and oil prices on the world markets skyrocketed. The US (including all refining companies) buys oil on the world markets. No US president makes the prices higher at the pumps unless more taxes are added and that hasn’t happened on the Federal level for years.
Do I need to discuss shipping costs? Inflation? You can blame Biden for many things but be informed first.

Are you aware of price gouging and the activities of retailers and how they learned from the toilet paper days how to hold back inventories?
The Feds are going after any retailers they find holding and shifting supplies. Costco, walmart and loads of other retailers held paper products as soon as they knew production was limited. Chemical companies had no supplier shortages and had billions of metric tons of Amonia yet there was a fertilizer, solvent, cleaner shortage. Because nitrogen needs Amonia for synthesis Nobody paid attention.

Oh, I read into the claim of the “truck loads and truck loads and warehouses full of baby formula“

It’s one claim on Facebook from a FL Republican that says she recieved a picture from a boarder cop at a TX processing center. He was complaining that he witnessed pallets and shelves full of formula when there is a shortage at the stores. Only FOX news reported this after somebody sent what they read on Facebook.
This is a prime example of how these inflammatory stories spread around. Btw, no confirmation, no one can be reached to further the story. A pallet or pallets does not make multiple truckloads and warehouses full.
