Extended wheelbase T bucket

This is the problem I’m having with my frame. This is my best effort but I hope to get more consistent but I think it will be ok but the little hole in the weld concerns me.

Would also depend on the stresses for that member in the frame. Is this with different steel or
the original stuff you bought?

I would want to fill the hole if for nothing else for cosmetic reasons. Beads look pretty good for
someone that just started TIG welding.

I think I got it figured out! I cleaned with 120 grit flap wheel then acetone. I got so excited I had to brag! I’m just tacking now until I can close the door to keep the wind from blowing the argon away. Onward! Lol

Looks good if your penetration is good. You might need glasses to run a straight bead though.:D:D:oops::oops:o_Oo_O I can't either! And I wear glasses.

The first picture shows penatration (forT-test) and the rest are for me! Lol
I could be working on the other rail if I was using a mig! Spend more go slower? That’s the ticket!

Can there be to much penetration? Will that make the weld not shiney? I was using 125 amps on .120 tube. Full pedal most of the the time.

It wont break off that's for sure.
Just heat warpage issues add up .
Be off square .
Without a frame Jig Heat warpage will cause alignment headaches.
I am A MIG Welder.
My Bud Ed does the TIG Welding.

Just looks like alot of heat for TIG.
You can see the Heat discoloration spread out over 1 inch or more.
1/4" inch is typical TIG welding steel heat discoloration.

The Pedal controls the Voltage & Current.
When I watch Ed TIG He never hits the Pedal fully & works it up & down as needed, Modulates it.

I made a few Videos of him Tigging.
Post them next.

I watch Jody on “welding tips and tricks.com” but it is hard to make my hands and foot to do what I ask them to do. Lol I’m still working on my first bottle of argon so I expect a learning curve so any help or pointers is appreciated.
