greasing ball joints etc.

I found my old grease gun with some old non brand Li grease canister. The links appear to give several good choices of EP greases good for repacking bearings as well as the Zerk fittings in my C4’s upper and lower ball joints. Looking at the grease lube points specified in my 1984 maintenance manual, there are two points at the steering linkage for the extreme right and left, two points in the rear tie rod at the extreme right and left sides. Do these also have Zerk grease fittings, and additionally the U joints on the drive shaft?

most u-joints either don't have grease fittings or have threaded plugs you need to replace, most people avoid u-joints with grease fittings as they have proven to be weaker, under stress , U-joints are a wear item like fan belts ,brake pads etc, that should be replaced about every 80K-90K miles+

Since you did not address the ends of the steering linkages and ends of the rear tie rods, I will assume they do have Zerc fittings. And while your links talk about various locking grease gun nozzles to make one-handed grease injection easier, I hope that does not mean it is required to get to the different Zerks. I have a flexible hose and a standard interface on mine that I hope will allow it to be done with two hands while holding the nozzle in place.

Finally, there was a You-tuber who talked about putting grease under the suspension interface with the spring contact point. Is this something that should be done?

the lever locking grease gun fittings are vastly easier to use, but yeah, thats correct,
you don't NEED them to grease most zerk fittings
yet they are helpful
