what do you gentlemen think will happen?
I wish the 1934 NFA laws were mostly repealed,or modified, to allow easier access to some items,
carbines with barrels under 16" and suppressors should not be a huge concern and require registration,
and with proper documentation and a background check owning a full auto should be much easier.
but I just can't imagine the ATFe being removed or disbanded and defunded
after all who is going to chase the moonshiners for taxes,and verify quality of the booze!
what might happen is personnel are shifted to immigration to help reinforce the border, and ICE.

IM really impressed that it looks like the ATFE is being brought under control.
by the current administration that is limiting them to do ONLY what they were intended to do.
yet the ATFE BUREAUCRATS still try hard to do everything they can to make firearm ownership as difficult as they can
that potential downsizing obviously has the bureaucrats under shorts in a knot!
as they are being restricted from the previous ROUGE agency with the MINDSET that they ,
could and were actually supposed to make up rules, and interpret laws as they saw fit,
and enforce those rules they made up, as laws, and if there was no existing law...
well HELL, it was obviously mandatory in the ATFE managements minds, as bureaucrats
that they just made up a rule they wanted, and enforced it as they saw necessary!
keep in mind the bureaucratic mindset is and always has been,
we need more personnel and a constantly increasing budget
and if you fail to agree, your obviously the enemy of progress
the atfe reminds me of this story about government
THE NIGHT WATCHMAN
Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night." So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job. Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?" So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies. So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One was to do the studies and one was to write the reports. Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $918,000 over budget, we must cut back." So they laid-off the night watchman.
NOW slowly, let it sink in. (its the way bureaucrats think)

as many of the employees as possible should be transferred to ICE and immigration

with your thumb in a belt loop and your finger on the trigger it is occasionally potentially possible to get most semi auto,
firearms to bump fire a double or rarely a triple rapid shot as recoil and finger tension act to rapidly discharge the handgun or
rifle, people have done that as a gimmick since the 1930s with enough practice almost anyone can get a rapid double discharge.
the fact is that people can get creative and do dumb stuff...
you'll never outlaw creative stupidity
but the ATFE is trying to prove that wrong
and they have the staff & employee base to try it!
there appears to be a trend toward some hint of sanity..

this is CRITICAL!! THIS IS PROOF THAT the NFA,
was set up to demand taxes for firearm ownership
(totally unconstitutional)
the idea was to make you ,or any firearm owner, prohibited,
from ownership through taxing and denying your constitutional rights
making anyone guilty of TAX EVASION if you own a listed and taxed firearm,
without, being forced into registering and buying a tax stamp,(totally unconstitutional)
