if you ever go to the local range this gismo ( barrel cooler) can much more rapidly cool off your rifles barrel, it also helps if you use a moly lube to lube and cool the action and barrel both internally and externally to reduce the tendency toward rust forming as it dissolves crud & corrosion
most more experienced shooters know a hot barrel (generally after 3-4 shots) tends to shoot to a different point of impact than a cold barrel. thus if your sighting in a hunting rifle you generally shoot with a longer time between shots so the barrel and scope will be sighted in to simulate/ duplicate the probable results you get on the first two or three shoots to maximize accuracy, after all while hunting you few shots will be from a rifles that may not have been fired in days.

having a rifle cleaning rod with patches and a jag that fits the bore also helps

this mini vac flows a great deal more air flow
Im sure it could easily be adapted to suck or blow much more air flow,
through a rifle's barrel and action , vastly speeding cooling

having a rifle cleaning rod with patches and a jag that fits the bore also helps

solvent (swabbing the bore with solvent and lube patches that are soaked in the solvent and bore lube on a cleaning rod) also helps prevent wear and over heating the bore

a decent rifle rest for use at the range to help sight in your rifle never hurts either

having 3-5 coin bags filled with rubber tire mulch also works well, as a rifle rest,
if you place the rubber mulch in zip lock bags before you sew the canvas bags shut
(what I used for decades)
rubber mulch

canvas bank coin bags
btw
styrofoam peanuts won't work in the bags as they consistently get smaller and less supportive with use and sand makes the bags far to heavy and subject to rot from mold/moisture over time plus sand tends to leak far faster
