My Custom 1911 Build

So I wanted to build a guy that had my touches on it to be passed down. I started with a Springfield Mil-Spec and only used the body. I had a custom slide made with my logo on it. Everything is from Ed Brown. I goofed and plan to fix it, but I purchased the SA jig for the hand safety. It's not close as you can see. I will weld it up and fix it later. The frame was taken down to bare polished metal and I blued it. I did all the tricks to it. Trigger, ported the magwell, etc. It has a 3.4lb pull. Then I added my touch with the burr front and rear. I had a pair of custom Altamont grips made. It was a lot of work!

I started doing a 6 inch Nighthawk barrel on my Sig Emporer Scorpian 1911 doing all the fitting so it locks up then homing the barrel to the bushing and some other stuff but these are defiantly not an AR or Glock for barrel changes it actually makes you work at it

I used to own a stainless 7" barrel, AMT hardball long slide, I really regret selling it!

I wish I could duplicate it, every one Ive ever seen for sale has either been abused and not well cared for or priced way over $1000, and I paid less than 1/2 that when it was new (yeah Im unreasonable and that was decades ago) but I darn sure won't pay 4-5 times that for a lightly used version

I'm going to talk with a gunsmith I know tomorrow so he can sign off on what I've done so far but I'm going to ask him about building one from scratch or buying one and customizing it but he said that he would work with me and help me along the way so I think I need to jump on this offer

hell yes, you can learn a few skills, never ignore a chance to learn new skills
