Nostalgia

yeah, its rather hard to imagine now, but back in the day, when I was a teenager most gas stations,
had a lift , maybe two or three in some cases,
and a mechanic and did jobs like oil changes, brake jobs,
water pump replacements,
tune-ups and sold tires etc.
the larger gas stations generally would quote you on larger jobs like clutch jobs,
and engine repairs, there was frequently some old experienced mechanic/owner
or maybe two,
and if you got to know the guys they could be a big help
in as one of my mentors stated,
"learning you the facts,
showing you where to get parts and tools,
and help you develop the ability to think clearly,
and developing the skills you need to kno
w"
