ok some of you smarter guys, give me ideas here.

Everything about a C4 Vette is pretty good Grumpy as far as driving Egronomics .
The Shifter is terrible for A4 auto.
Placed high up because of the Lotus car like drop down seats.
10 second ET cars and faster are traditionally full manual shift.
I dont think ECM Computer shifts can be trusted that fast.
Governor shift Automatics limited to 12 -high 11s from what I seen throughout the years.
Human body still does shifting better.

Muncie 4 speed shifter placement in my 70TA is pefect for full bore power shifts.

Also that factory console used in all 2nd Gen stick muncie 4 TA and Camaro is terrible.
Gets in the way Drag Racing power shifts.
Makes you miss gears.
1970 TA like mine was built without.
An option the console.

Pretty amazing that Hurst does not make a Pro 1/4 stick Drag Race Shifter for a 4L80E.
No Drag Race Proven Full Manual 100% Reliable for 10's & 9's shifters exist for a 4L80E Grumpy.

4L80E has everything going for it on paper.
Just expensive start to finish.
Can not afford for my Suburban.
Even if free.
Rebuid & do it right costs.

Applies to Turbo 400 & 4L80E Grumpy since they are directly related brothers.
I think mainly for Severe Duty Drag Use & For Drag Racing with a Trans Brake.
Never heard of the issue on the street bone stock or modded.

Bought a set of shims for the Pontiac TH400 project a while back.
Kinda pricey for selective shims.

Something to read through.

Made a PDF file on it for me.
Not going to copy & paste so the link given above.

just a question,
if someone has a stock 4l80e transmission,
and wanted to buy a 3200rpm stall converter and convert the trans to full manual control,
whats the approximate cost and time frame?
what shifter is available for use with a full manual control on a 4l80e?

I like the Art Carr Shifters but I do not know how aestheticly pleasing it would be in a corvette.

Here is a pic of the modification I did for mine in a 1987 chevy truck. I made the tube consol .
It doubles as an "OH SH*T !! " grab bar for the passenger also!

Here Is the same shifter , but in a flush mount style in a 2004 chevy truck.
Work in pic has not been completed yet ...so....
I removed the cup holder tray and replaced it with a .125 thick plate which the shifter bolted down to.
