porting can help

a great example of why you SHOULD NEVER put much work or cash, into crap quality OEM heads,
as the gains may be significant, over the stock configuration,
BUT the end result costs far more than the time and effort warrants
your far better off starting with better heads

as a basic guide your ideal street/strip
performance small block chevy head

should flow at least 250 cfm at .500 lift and ideally 280 cfm plus at .700 lift

That "Mission Impossible Engine" project, David Vizard, Tony and Unity Garage are doing is really interesting.
Charles Servedio is doing all the porting for them, and IMHO he is doing an amazing job.
Here is one of the clips, well worth to see them all, if you into porting.
