career liberal politician... who only cares about maintaining his job and paycheck,
and is obviously thinking .
"SCREW THE CONSTITUTION,"
"SCREW YOUR RIGHTS."
. this might cost me personally some money!
this guy needs to get publicly fired
and NOT JUST RETIRED
and REPLACED, with him not retaining a pension!

this is CRITICAL!! the NFA was set up to demand taxes for firearm ownership
(totally unconstitutional)
the idea was to make you ,or any firearm owner, prohibited,

from ownership through taxing and denying your constitutional rights
making anyone guilty of TAX EVASION if you own a listed and taxed firearm, (totally unconstitutional)
LET THESE GUYS KNOW YOU WANT THE,
HEARING PROTECTION ACT, and the SHORT ACT
ask to have short barrel rifles removed from the NFA control
we need a country wide uniform removal of any states ability,
to ban or regulate firearm suppressors
call your senator and tell them you want the SHUSH act and SHORT act passed in the big bill, eliminating the NFA controls

I'M glad the texas legislature is
removing short barrel rifles from prohibitive status
(I sure hope the FEDS also do so!)
as the length of your carbine barrel has ZERO to do with your use,, or your intentions,
nor does it affect the extremely small minority of criminals,or what they use,
as they ALWAYS IGNORE LAWS, so criminalizing a carbine barrel length,

only affects those people who just don't cause crimes, in the vastly overwhelming percentage of use.

can you imagine some criminal thinking...
OH CRAP! :swearing:
I can't use this gun to rob a bank or shoot up rival gang members...
the barrel length is under 16" making it "prohibitive status ":crying:

OK What is the bottom line here...are we allowed suppressors or not??

Is it depended of what state you live in?? Like gun control laws are STILL??

Like what is the rule in AZ??

Rich

It's looking better, as the laws are slowly changing, each state currently has different laws and processes,
it used to take up to a year to be approved and cost $200 for the tax stamp, this is slowly being standardized & simplified
plus you normally needed to be finger printed & photographed and cleared by the local legal authorities (thats not free)
some (just a few) states outright denied you any access to buying or owning one legally( a few states added absurd fees or ownership restrictions in addition)
currently the $200 tax is still enforced but that tax stamp restriction, should be removed either very shortly or on jan 1 of 2026, if the law remains as current, but they are pushing for all that legal B.S. to be removed,(several states are fighting to retain restrictions, but it looks like they are slowly loosing grounds ,the obvious goal is so you can buy a suppressor with only the same style form as buying any handgun.
things should have improved by jan 2026 under the current process, and if we win a couple current cases things may improve a great deal.
the real issue is that some politicians and lawyers make more money and have more power under the current system,
and they (the anti-gun groups) constantly fight to reduce your rights and lawyers and some politicians increase their profits and retain power through restrictions and added taxes
you should never be forced to pay to exorcise a right listed in the constitution,(remember POLL TAXES TO VOTE") just a financial burden to prevent people from exercising rights

That is the answer I needed...so it is not legal YET, but Texas seems to act like it is...kind of how Mary Jane is still not fed legal but other wise is
