I was overheating pulled in a place quick cause needle was in the red ,I just sat there 30 minutes,to let car cool off, I checked the oil and water both were fine, I got in car to go home, ran over 2 concrete long parking blocks, made terrible noise, started driving home , needle stayed normal , got corvette 3 minutes away, than white steam or white smoke started from the exhaust, lasted 3 minutes, and got home and oil was everywhere, coming from the oil filter, all over driveway,Mechanic is coming in a few days,I cant look at it,I'm too upset,I'm scared not only that it may have busted the head gasket, or block, but ruin the undercarriage too.I can't believe the car got home after this,I'm still in shock and can't look at it,I saw someone else did this on this forum with their corvette,I know how you feel,
I thought I was so careful with my car, especially a Corvette,I never did anything so stupid ,but I refuse to beat myself up,thats why they call it an accident, I waited 20 years to buy a USED Corvette 1990,and I cant even cry,I have no full coverage insurance of course, so to the person, that asked here, if anyone has ever done it? Yep I just did,and I haven't faced it yet,I work 30 hrs a week,it will take me a year probably to come up with money to fix it,but It was an accident,I am human,I
bet I won't do it again, probably cause it will cost too much to get it back on the road again, but I'm not a jerk, nor am I stupid,I still can say I own a Corvette lol..

first step,

get the car up on a lift and inspect the extent of the damage,

think logically and don,t panic

at this point your only guessing and it may or may not be as bad as you think.

deal in facts, don,t guess.

theres NOTHING on a corvette that the average guy/gal can,t repair with some time, knowledge and effort and the correct tools,

look at this as a chance to learn new skills and perhaps buy a few tools if thats required

you may have only damaged an oil filter, oil pan, radiator or oil cooler lines.

your certainly not the first or last person to do something that you regret,

but its simply a CORVETTE, its REPAIRABLE, and again...

theres NOTHING on a corvette that the average guy/gal can,t repair with some time and effort and the correct tools,

take lots of pictures, and if you don,t already own one buy a FACTORY SHOP MANUAL

yeah, its not ideal, but its a corvette, its repairable its not like you ran over a kid or something serious!

If you want to have a bit of useful info/help, here,
posting several /lots of clear detailed pictures,
taken under the corvette while up on a lift or at least up on jack stands,
from several directions,
would allow some suggestions on how to proceed

having a lift may not be required but it sure helps in gaining access,
and seeing whats required under the car.
