Shock Absorbers

Hi guys! I am planning to replace the factory shock absorbers on my 2008 Ford Mustang. I have heard good things about Bilstein Shocks. My question is what specific series among their Street Rod and Muscle Car shock absorbers would fit my GT? I am planning to order one online and have it installed on a local car shop.

yes theres no doubt the better quality tools are faster and easier to use , but the cost , may be prohibitive if you don,t use one frequently

keep in mind some U-RENT-IT type tool rental shops rent those MANUAL SCREW STYLE OR HYDRAULIC auto shock spring compressor's rather seasonably

If given the choice I would go with an adjustable shock. It sure adds to the flexibility of the
system, go from girl friend/mistress smooth, sporty street to race track performance with
twist of a knob. Don't count out QA1 shock absorbers, I bought them for my streetrod.

looking at that picture I have too assume that you hold the nuts with an open end wrench, or crows foot, wrench, as access looks to be miserable....
and tighten them with a socket on the bolt heads from under-neath?

Don't have any crows foot, but it doesn't take much to hold them with an open end wrench
while tightening from under neither. Somethings are easier on a TBucket like the oil pan, but
then again you have to pay the piper somewhere.

Let's don't get into working under the dash!!!

Glad you found your way back to the forum for 2018!!!

Have you decided what you are going to buy? Are you going to perform the work yourself,
were here to help?

yeah, theres a series of different part numbers, even in a single car model or brand,
that could have been installed along with combos of springs and torsion bars, standard, coil spring assisted, and air shocks
lots of clear pictures and part numbers would be great here!
and in some cases traction bars, etc.
in many applications so without specifics on the car and what other components were used , its difficult to discuss the potential let alone actual results
