EADC3674-895D-443F-A27D-A864A949BC27.jpeg I would like to downsize the factory wheel in my ‘68 Catalina. At the same time keep it correct looking, are the steering wheels any smaller in the midsize-GTO, Tempest, LeMans or even Firebirds from the mid to late ‘60’s?
I’m not ready to swap steering columns to get a tilt, but the current wheel rubs on my legs when driving - no, I don’t have big legs. This wheel will rub anyone bigger than 5’ and 80lbs.
Here’s a picture of my wheel.C696DF75-8FDB-4076-BA6F-A89BC68ADA01.jpeg

You could try and swap steering wheels to a GTO or Pontiac Firebird.
I do not recall what diameter they are.

I know the Formula Steering wheel was 14 inches in diameter.
Optional on the 1969 Trans Am, 1969-1971 GTO,
And standard on a 1970-81 Trans Am.

I don't have the same problem in my 1963 Gp.
Large steering wheel and no tilt column, well away from my legs.

If I recall right only the Fullsize Pontiacs had the clear upper Lucite plastic rims.
GTO & Firebird had woodgrain imitation.
Also there I recall a real Mahogany Wood steering wheel optional on early year GTO's.
