LOL! It’s my new to me rear bumper for my Catalina. I hope it’s in the condition the seller stated. It was on EBay and I won the offer, then I got really stupid!
The guy wants me to pay him through PayPal using the “Friends And Family” Pay option so he can save money. He doesn’t allow any returns, so I have no protection other than using my credit card, however this friends and family thing costs ME the PP fees if I don’t use money from a balance on my account or the funds come directly out of my bank account.
If it were not for the seller’s high ratings of satisfaction on eBay I would have though out the situation better.
I was kind of over a barrel - I really wanted a better bumper then I have on the car now. The way it is, I believe would cost me an early sale or even a price reduction. This bumper wasn’t easy to find and pure luck it showed up.

You'll be ok. I have had that happen to me once or twice before.

I thought about this the other day, I cannot rate this seller, he can’t rate me either.

I’ll have to remember to take before and after pictures of my $405.00 used bumper.
What ever happened to the days when you when to the junk yards to save money - obtain bargains over new parts?
That $50 water bottle wasn’t rare

Looks terrible.
Try cleaning with Bleach and water.

I didn’t buy it Brian. I was going to, but the guy pissed me off. I was playing his game and he had no trouble trying to take further advantage of me.
I come from a different kind of people, the kind that says “Treat others as you would like to be treated.”
I don’t care for those that do a hit and run not caring if they ever see or deal with you again.

It happened it real person back in the day too.
Internet You can not swing back fighting instant.
The problem.

Rich I thought you decided to go for the generic water bottle then never show the car to Brian

It just came, woo-hoo! It doesn’t have any rust, not even any of those teeny tiny light brown spots.
However . . . . .it does have some gouges near where the bumper jack is used.
A big improvement over the original.

I can’t believe it costs anywhere near $190 to ship a bumper. Ok, it’s 6 ft long, maybe 40lbs?

Is there anyway to decipher the shipping weight from the shipping label? I’d like to know what was actually paid to send it.

Way too much LOL
I thought so. On the package FedEx has it weighing 35lbs and 82” X 10”X7”. FedEx has a online quote for just weigh and it says $139.00 for economy delivery. I think Fx has discounts for business so it’s likely to be even less.
It’s not about paying the price, I knew that when I said yes for it and everybody knows when you sell on line you make a ton of money on shipping. I just think it was under handed dealing canceling the auction because the seller wanted to save the PayPal fees and act stupid when I discovered I had to pay the fees. I removed all the dirt and grime... Found about 6 dents in various degrees I want to hammer out. Unfortunately I don’t have the proper hammer or a sandbag. I like to see what a body shop would charge for this, it couldn’t (or shouldn’t) take more than an hour.

Aaaah - he canceled the auction! I never give in to that.
just so we are on the same page. He cancelled the auction so he didn’t have to pay the eBay fees. Then he communicated with me independently from eBay.

The bumper shines like show chrome but all polished up now you can see a half dozen dents when the seller said there is just one dent and it would be easy to fix.
Not for me, I don’t have the right tools

When they do that, I always tell them to put it up for bid again.

Another thing they do is have a friend always bid higher... and then when the friend wins they tell you he cancelled and you are the next highest bidder.

I always say: no deal. Do auction over. Tho I do not bid the second time.
