the semi auto Thompson sub gun CLONES may look impressive ,
but they are basically ancient tech, very much outdated!
you have near zero recoil in the 45acp carbine, but its a semi auto toy that you use,
to blast old coke cans at 25 yards, not really a effective weapon
what made the Thompson sub gun effective, in military use.. is its CLOSE RANGE,FULL AUTO FIRE POTENTIAL,
something most of us can't afford ( as legal full auto guns cost over $20K)
I have to point out that a current AR15 platform, in many cartridge choices,
is a FAR superior option with better accuracy, longer range and better penetration
keep in mind most Thompson sub guns were chambered in 45 acp,
(this is 1920s technology at best)
a pistol cartridge that's most effective at under 50 yards
while a 223 rem or other cartridge extend the potential range to well over 100-400 yards
(depends on cartridge/ammo choices)
yes as a semi auto clone, they can provide hours of entertainment,
bouncing soda cans all over a safe firing range back stop
or just tearing up cardboard targets
