You see the 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 in the vintage video ?
It cleaned house.
1963 & 1964 Corvette 327 375 Hp Flat Tappet Solid Lifter Muncie M21 4-speed with 3.55, 3.73, 4.10 gears was a Strong Runner.
Ford Shelby 289 left them all behind.

That is a good looking Vintage Musclecar
1967 Mercury Cougar.

Did You know Pontiac used Ford Dearborn 3-speed transmissions in the base GTO 1964 to 1968 or till 1969 ?
1970 Muncie Division made a 3-speed Transmission for base stick 400 cubic Pontiac engines.
I have heard those Ford 3-speed Manual transmissions never failed.

I was 16 at the time and didn't know too much about the car other than the motor I put in it I tore it out of a 66 Mustang Fastback I paid 30.00 for it and another 30.00 for a Holly 4 bbl 650 carb it had 3 speed floor shifter and no posi rear and no idea what gear it was but with the L-60 tires on it it would damn near pull the one front tire it was quick and fast for what it was I wish I would have kept that motor when I retired the car the next year because I got a 70 Mach 1 with a 428 CJ and that was way more car than a dumb High School kid should have had and just remembering some of the things I did in that car I shouldn't probably be here today but I lived through that and owning a hopped up 900 Kawasaki at 18-19 years old I just cringe at some of the things that I did on that thing
