Thoughts On A Welder Purchase?

I recently moved into a new house, and while the garage is much bigger its not really set up for real work. I had just finished redoing everything in my old garage, lighting, heat/ac, 100amp sub panel with tons of 120 and 220 outlets all over, etc. I will eventually get there with the new place, as well as add a separate shop later, but for now I only have a few 15 amp 120 outlets out there.

I am in the middle of building a car, and need to finish some fab work on the turbo kit. I also need to fully weld everything since its all just tacked. So far I have been using my buddies Hobart EZ TIG 165i welder, but it is 220v only which I cant currently use. I think if I had a dual voltage machine I would be able to do everything I need to right now on 110v. At a minimum I could finish fabricating everything and tack it all together so I can pull everything apart to work on other parts of the car.

I would LOVE to have a Miller Dynasty 210 DX with a water cooled torch and the wireless foot pedal, but that is around $6,600 Is that really worth the significant money over others out there such as Vulcan (Harbor Freight), Alpha (Amazon), Everlast (Amazon), or even the Hobart (Miller)? I guess the main question is do I spend the money on a dual voltage TIG (and which one) so I can finish up what I need right now on 110v? The other option would be to spend the money on a sub panel and a 220V outlet so I can keep using my buddies welder and buy a welder later.

I just want to get back to working on my car, but I am at a standstill now since I want to finish fabrication before I blow it apart, and I cant weld right now.

the first thing ID point out is that any decent and versatile welder, TIG OR MIG, that can do both,
sheet metal and substantially thicker material, and allow you too work on both steel and aluminum,
will NEED a 220 volt feed,
so you might consider adding the required 220 volt outlet.
Id also point out that if you shop carefully and consider purchase of
a USED welder
you might find a few bargains
commercial businesses fail or move or upgrade, its not rare to find bargains in used welder;s available at significant discounts,
Id certainly ask for a short demo on using any used welder ,
and make sure it works before considering a purchase.
and only purchase one that came with all the accessories required as accessories, needed ,
like torches, torch coolers, shield gas tanks, gauges, mig spool guns etc.
they use , for a demo, but won,t include , ,and "minor repairs"
add too the price of a functional welder very rapidly
