Pictures are how we communicate, someone may be trying to duplicate your setup and
without pics and links it very hard to do. :D

I used to do 3D computer animation, reconstructing accident for attorneys. Have you ever
had someone explain an accident with words.... yep just shake your head like you know
EXACTLY what they are saying.:rolleyes:

There is a reason why attorneys need graphics!

My rotating assembly was supposed to be here two weeks ago, kinda got jerked
So went with someone else, new date on rotating assembly is this coming Friday,
I've been chomping at the bit to get this thing assembled.
I've taken tons of pictures , I've posted a few things so far that I've done , but waiting for everything to get her to start new thread.
I unfortunately won't have a engine dyno
Sheet like some do, I will have a real world chassis dyno sheet to throw out when I'm done.

I would not be too concerned about Engine Dyno Testing.
You have a High Torque Engine build.
Street car with drag strip potential.

Big Cubes make it hard to get the Power down clean.

N/A drag cars no power adder need 3.90 4.10 4.30 4.56 4.88 5.13 gears to run 10s with a 27 -31 inch tall rear tire.
Big cubed takes a full drag race cam.
Raises power band where you need it.
Also softens bottom end hit.
Still 400- 500 ft/lbs torque at 2000 rpm in a Pontiac 455.
Chevy 496 will behave similar.

One of the gears I was looking at was 4.11
Right now I'm looking into a competition engineering 8 point roll cage so I don't rip the car in two.

Yes.
The CCE Comp Engineering is a Good Roll Cage for the Money.
Mild Steel is fine for your Goals.

Chromemoly better. Costs alot more.
Need real Good TIG welding skills for Chromoly.
Mild steel Ok to MIG Weld in.

Big Hp is expensive N/A or power adder.
Big Nitrous hit is dangerous without aluminum connecting rods and dedicated nitrous purpose built pistons and Hellfire Total Seal Tool steel or stainless steel rings used.
Alot more gear is needed and experience to use successfully.

The Rear Subframe Rails are spot welded in by GM.
Lay down some nice stringer beads with a MIG welder on your back.
Where the front leaf spring eye area is.
This area takes all the torque loads on 1967-81 F body forward driving and on drag race launch.
Where Antisquat traction is formed at.
I MIG welded solid on my 70 TA.

Dont have to go crazy.
Space out MIG Beads every .1-2 inches.

Also do not weld the Front Spring Eye Bucket hangers to the Subframe.
Its not needed for the Street or Drag Race.
That mod was started by SCCA Road Racers and an infamous Pikes Peak Racer with a 1970-1/2 TA RAIV 4-speed.
High lateral loads left and right that type of racing.
Not seen on the street and drag.

Welded in spring eye buckets will be near impossible to remove later.
