I need input from who has done this with old school Sbc 327. Iam not making a strip machine but a streetable car I can enjoy on long hauls. I know sounds odd but a crossram just looks outstanding to me at car shows.
i have a SJ 327 and a offy crossram with dual four top plate.
thinking about Trickflow dhc heads.
advise on cam, which brand efi,
any help is much appreciated

We would be interested in this. My uncle is looking to get this Chevy with SJ 327 after we finished brake pads and toyo tires on the Silverado this week. Crossram setup sounds interesting.

early 302cubic inch Z28 camaros came with an OPTIONAL extra cost ,dual quad cross ram intake in the trunk,
Ive worked on several in the past and significant power gains could be had, swapping to a cam similar to,
a crane 110921 solid lifter cam,
especially in a larger displacement 11:1 compression engine ,
which was very commonly done, and I built several 377-406 SBC with the cross ram intakes ,
4.11:1 rear gears and muncie 4 speeds, headers etc. which really made the camaros noticeably faster

But to make it more highway cruiser, wouldn’t a roller cam be a choice? The bad thing about retiring from the military and staying around fort Benning/Columbus Georgia area is the distance to drive to car shows. 2 hour minimum

yeah a roller cam would be better, and something like the crower 00471 RICK used in his T-bucket, used in a in a 327 used as daily transportation, would be rather effective, but those hydraulic roller cams were rare and really expensive back in the early 70s, unlike today,
the crower 00471 RICK used in his T-bucket, would work reasonably well, as a daily driver , while combining good long term durability on a street car, with brisk performance characteristics, obviously the rear gear ratio, should be in the 3.54:1-4.11:1 range, use a 3200 rpm stall converter and over drive ratio auto transmission or manual transmission, large transmission fluid cooler, about 10.5:1-11:1 static compression, low restriction headers and exhaust matching the cam profile helps immensely
and Id suggest two 450 - to 600 cfm max size cfm carbs

obviously you have efi options, you should look into the details and discuss the options if going efi

I did pull the trigger on fitech dual efi kit. Had to take advantage of cyber Monday. Also purchased Trickflow DHC heads as well
