US Suppression of Ultra High Mileage Carbureters

Tomarrow is A New Day Richard.

If You think Ed & me would not like to esrn $900-10,000 cash per week each your incorrect .

When I worked in that Race shop it was in a Rich wealthy suburb of Chicago .
The owner had a Hard time paying the Bills.
I had to stay over many nights working on the Mustang AWD Chassis Dyno.
Troubleshoot & Repair on the spot myself.
Turbo & Supercharged cars.
Advanced driveability problems & ultra high tech race hardware .
A few times I finished at 3 AM.
The Boss would get paid.
Thousands cash.
Then he could pay me.
Cash $$$.

Brian, I got a call from a friend the other day. He has a motorcycle/hot rod shop. He said that
he is also flipping cars - BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc. He picks them up for around $5500.
He mentioned that those brands will send you to school and they pay for it. Then they place
you and start you at $100,000/yr. Something to think about.o_O

In Illinois all the Good Jobs are in Chicago now.
Mainly on the North side.
Many houses start at $2,000,000 up there. You are done mowing your lawn in 10 minutes with a push mower.
With a rider mower costing $30,000 bucks your done in 30 seconds.

Peoria, IL has pretty much shut down.
Caterpillar is not doing much.
Not too long ago they were paying $32 -50 bucks an hour doing maintenance work.
Mining business tanked in Africa & Australia.

I dont care what the Democrats Naysayers think,
Our Nation Hopes & Dreams rely upon Trump.
If you kick him out then Hillary Wins for sure.
If She kicks the bucket soon then Bam Will never leave the Whitehouse.

My days of working in car dealerships are over Mike.
I am 46 years old now.
Done with Flat rate. I worked it for years.

You hear of any Drag Race Shops here in Illinois / Chicagoland looking for a Veteran Highly skilled mechanic let me know.
Paying more than 2 bucks an hour too.

I have to make it through this month - August 2016.
A Race shop I have been talking to is highly interested in me.
Last mechanic got killed.
'So there is an opening.
September they are hiring.

Believe or not that is near 100% why a mechanic finds a job today.
Last guy died likely.

Still looking on Diesel side.
Chicago.
Hiring season starts in September & runs through November.
$32-50 per hour .

Job now Ok. 20
More hours coming.
May get hired full time.

There are some potential deals om ebay with Recent Big Block Chevy listings Grumpy.
Just a few hundred dollars to buy a complete engine core.

A few Pontiac guys are trying to redefine the Pontiac V8 market.
What caught my eye was asking prices of Midyear 389 & 421 cylinder heads.
Close to 2,000 .
I have 1964-65 389 & 421 heads complete in good condition.
Don't wish to sell.

Listed a few items of my own.

Something to do with slow times right now.

Interesting stuff regarding those high mileage carbs.
But gas was also way different back than. I guess our modern fuel is really holding us back these days.

On the other hand, on my daily driver - 2002 Explorer/RWD/V6 - with all its computer controlled ignition/injection/sensors andwhatnot,
I get around

City: 16.80 mpg
Highway: 21.38 mpg

with my 1941 Chevy 261 inline 6: pretty much the same.

Similar weight of cars, similar engine size, similar HP, same driving habit - looks like 80 years of engine development and computer controls don't have much effect on fuel economy.

I don't think the single Fish carb (coming back to the original topic) I'm running on the Chevy has too much to do with it - it sure get's better economy than the dual Weber setup I had before, but nothing crazy, maybe 10-15%.

Bob Fish also never claimed crazy mileage, it's usually getting mixed up with Pogue and some wild articles, with even wilder claims often, which confuses a lot of folks, so they dismiss it as snake oil.

Actually it's pretty legit. The main reason why I run it on my Stovebolt is:
I'm into quirky mechanical stuff from the 30s-50s - fun to tinker with, and curiosity.

Didn't expect much, but it's actually an amazing little carb and genius engineering, easy to tune and it runs great.
