I took my ’68 CatAlina out yesterday for the first time in 6 months. When running down a smooth road, yeah we have a couple places, the wheel shakes. What list can I make to start to fix this?

So you are saying the steering wheel shakes from side-to-side and not just vibrating ?

How far did you drive it, and the tires developed flat spots from sitting. Maybe you didn't drive it far enough for it work out the flat spots. Are they radial tires or bias ply tires ?

They are 15” radial tires. The best I can describe is a steady shaking right, left fast about a 1/2” movement. Flat spots would just thump slower.

Plies separating in tire
Bent rim
Out of balance wheel
Worn suspension members
Combination of the above

So if I rotate the fronts with the rear tires and it doesn’t go away it’s only the front end suspension to look at?
I installed new shocks already, other parts I thought were fine

worn ball joints and worn tie rod ends,
and out of balance or out of round tires,
are where Id start looking

That’s going to be my plan in a few more weeks. I’m still looking for a replacement AC compressor too.
