what would be a reasonable number of spare mags
I was talking to a friend, after seeing the news about the indiana mall shooter that took out the nut job with his hand gun, and he brought up the fact that the cops detained the guy at first who saved so many lives by shooting the nut job, and he said he heard the guy shot the nut job with a handgun from 40 yards.
he then asked,
"I wonder if he stopped shooting because he was out of ammo, or he stopped after he realized he had stopped the shooter"
and then asked me
"I wonder if he had a back -up second or third magazine?"
then he brought up a question"
how many magazines do you consider reasonable to carry?
if you carry a spare mag ,that's just something Id consider a reasonable, precaution,
but if he was carrying 3 -5 spare magazines would the cops have considered him a potential secondary mall shooter?
even if he was in fact the hero that stopped the mass shooter?
just something I never considered until he mentioned it, simply because I generally carry 3 mags (two spares) for my S&W 1006 (10mm) ,
or my GLOCK 20 (10mm)CCW.. Im a larger guy at 6'3" and have zero issues carrying concealed inside waist band
I've worn suspenders for decades, but I'm 74 and in reasonable physical condition, so I don't think that's a negative issue as wearing them does allow you to carry using an inside waist band holster comfortably with the two spare mags.
btw my friend has been using one of those " 6" wide elastic/velcro band holster deals", you might see advertised around the upper chest ,under the arms to only carry two extra mags along with his cell phone with that elastic chest band, which he does now over a tea shirt and under his loose outer dress shirt, as he's stated, shirt pockets drop the cell phone, if he bends to pick something off the floor, and he got tired of cracking cell phone screens by sitting on them in pants pockets, if something presses against the screen, in the pocket
and he states you can easily forget your wearing them, "the 2 spare mags" and the cell phone" as its very comfortable, along with the IWB holster combo,
he says he could easily carry 4 extra mags very comfortably
but he thinks that's just silly excess

ID suggest you buy the 15 cartridge factory mags in most cases, but there are high quality 30 shot mags made
