your choice in guns for home defensive use

there is a great deal of useful info in this video ,
that mostly applies to the average firearm owner
having familiarity and having gained that through frequent practice,
with use of your weapon of choice is mandatory, your goal in a defensive confrontation is to stop the ,obvious mortal threat as fast as possible,(you must be 100% justified before you use lethal force in defense of your home & family)
this justification, varies wildly between states
but you always going to face legal scrutiny and potentially significant legal expenses, even if your completely justified

most defensive firearm use almost by definition will be at very close range,

defensive handguns are made to be concealed and carry .

if you do not carry a handgun concealed ,a shotgun or carbine used defensively in your home, might be a better option
effective range and accuracy are limited in most handguns ,compared to most carbines or most shotguns,
but at across the room distanced they can be effective, but handguns DO! require frequent practice.

shotguns and carbine's provide more control, potentially, longer ranges, and increased lethality,
in well practiced hands, generally provide advantages, a decent semi auto or pump shotgun properly loaded ,
is very effective at distances inside most homes if the user is skilled.
something like a short barrel AR15 carbine in 300 blackout can easily and accurately hit,

out past 200 yards something like an UZI carbine in 9mm is best at under 50 yards,
both far exceed the distances in most homes.

shop carefully I see some OUTRAGIOUS prices quoted lately
I have often seen uzi SEMI AUTO 9mm carbines sell for under $1200

the 9mm UZI semi auto cheap mag cost, very high dependability .and 32 shot mags ,all good for plinking or potential defensive use, the 9mm has no where close to an AR15 300 blackout chambered carbine's potential power, but its cheap

to operate and has almost no recoil and far less likely to zip through several internal home walls

now useable 10" vs factory 16.5" barrels (easy swap , check your states laws)
