My day job is not fun either Phil, I come home grumpy most Days....worse than our Grumpy.philly said:i think im gonna get a night job working security at a hospital, ~18 bucks an hour to scratch my ass and lose sleep... between that and the VA money i get from going to school i can finally scratch two nickels together and make something. then i can start charging real money for the side jobs i do. im so sick of busting my ass and unraveling other shitty mechanics jerry rigs and cutting my rates just to get work... my buddy is in the same boat he told me he took on a chevelle recently for a customer which had about 2000 dollars worth of labor that hes doing for 1000 because he needs the money. its fucking up the market down here because everyone wants something for nothing. from now on im doing $60 a labor unit and if people dont want to pay i dont want to waste my time. i got projects of my own.
its amazing how so many people think that mechanics should be charging like 10 bucks an hour or something. people dont argue with the doctor over how much he charges... shouldnt argue with me either.
